marketing, and developing and evaluating health
promotion programs

health leaders in a variety of settings
The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational
Outlook Handbook, 2006-07 Edition states that a master’s
degree is the most significant credential for positions in
this field. Employment in all areas of health service
management, including health education, is expected to grow
faster than average during the coming decade. Median annual
earnings in this field in May 2004 were $60,430. Salaries of
those employed in the industries which employed the highest
number of health service managers ranged from $60,000 to
$87,000.
