Independence University’s (IU) online BSN program provides the flexibility you need to get there, with 100% online courses designed so you can keep your work and family commitments while you earn your Bachelor’s in Nursing. IU provides the support and services you’d normally find at a ground campus, with all the flexibility and convenience that comes with earning your BSN degree fully online!

Step by step, here’s what to expect:

You may be wondering what it’s really like to earn a Bachelor of Science Completion degree 100% online. So, let’s take a sneak peek. First, we provide you with a new tablet and keyboard, fully loaded with your learning materials, so you have the right tools to succeed from the beginning.

You’ll take one or two online BSN program courses at a time, which follows your degree program schedule. Although courses vary, a typical course outline may consist of one assignment, one assessment, and one discussion board per week. The discussion board is a great way to connect with other online students in your program. For example, you may be asked to write and post 150 words on a relevant topic, and comment on others’ posts on the discussion board.

For each course, you’ll have a daily checkpoint, such as reading a medical article and answering one question. Checkpoints help to keep you on track with your studies.

Your courses are set up in convenient, four-week modules. That means each course is started and completed in four weeks! At the start of your first module, we’ll send you a new tablet, and during your fourth module (or four months into your studies), we’ll send you a new laptop. You can use both the tablet and laptop in school and keep them when you graduate!

At IU, we will train and prepare you to meet the many changes in the healthcare field by expanding and enhancing your nursing education.

Course titles include:

  • Nursing Management and Leadership

Your success team includes your admissions consultant who will be there for you throughout the entire enrollment process. During your first module, you’ll be introduced to your student services adviser, who will be your primary contact throughout your schooling and will monitor your progress. You will have a faculty program adviser who you can go to for any issues regarding your specific degree program. You will have an active student planner assigned to you, who will check to make sure all financial paperwork is properly handled so you can continue to receive any financial aid you are entitled to.
