Independence University Donates 100 Tablets to Spectrum Academy

Posted By Staff Writer on December 18, 2017

(Salt Lake City, Utah) Independence University is committed to and continues to strive to make a difference in our local communities.  As a result, Independence University has teamed up with Spectrum Academy to provide 100 tablets to better serve the needs of these amazing students.  Spectrum Academy is a premier charter school in Utah which teaches students with high-functioning autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and other special needs children.
“We are thrilled to have these devices for our students and are extremely grateful for this amazing donation by Independence University.” Principal Liz Banner – Pleasant Grove Campus
Spectrum Academy strives to provide unique structured learning opportunities for students in technology, vocational, and academic areas.  Many of these students respond well to technology and have difficulty with expressions of speech and written communication.  The use of tablets in the classroom environment may allow for better instruction through educational apps and online programs which can help students overcome many of their communication challenges. Independence University is happy to donate the new and slightly used devices to help further Spectrum Academy’s mission and vision for educating children.  Independence University is dedicated to helping all students graduate and advance their careers, or launch better careers.  At Independence University, we focus on fast, career-focused degrees so students can obtain the salary and security they deserve.
“These tablets are enriching our student’s education each and every day.” Liz Banner
