SALT LAKE CITY— Independence University (IU) is proud to help Utah’s young people by donating 49 laptops to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake has been helping youth in the area since 1967. Their primary focus is offering positive alternatives to children who may be surrounded by negative influences. “These laptops will be used by our staff and our children, so it’s fantastic,” says Carrie Francis, Vice President of Operations for the Boy & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake. “We’re just so grateful for this donation.”

Building off of IU’s mission to enrich the educational experience of all people by making technology more accessible, these laptops will help the Clubs in their mission to teach youth how to live successful and productive lives. Joseph Dunlop, the Associate Campus Director for Independence University, says the donation falls right in line with IU’s purpose. “We want to help as many people become independent through education or through organizations who sponsor individuals to help them become independent,” says Dunlop.
