Nonprofit Group of Colleges Announces $1 Million Dollar in Grants to Help ITT Students
August 1, 2016, Salt Lake City
Today, Center for Excellence in Higher Education, Inc. (“CEHE”), a nonprofit group of colleges, announced as part of its Good Neighbor Initiative, a $1 million dollar grant program to help ITT Tech students displaced by school closures that want to continue their education. CEHE’s colleges include Stevens-Henager College, Independence University, CollegeAmerica, and California College San Diego.
With colleges in six western states and a fully online university , CEHE hopes that its colleges can make a difference to ITT students who have already invested a tremendous amount of time and resources in their education.
“Our job is to help students – and actions speak louder than words. That’s why we’re offering $1 million dollars in grants to help ITT students” said Eric Juhlin, CEO.
The $1 million dollars in grants are for ITT students who want to continue their education and enroll in one of CEHE’s colleges to complete their degree. The maximum award per student is $4,000. CEHE hopes this will help ease the transition into a new college and help those students that might not have remaining financial aid eligibility.
“We challenge other schools and community colleges to step up and offer similar grants to ITT students” said Juhlin.
Any ITT student that is interested in continuing their education should visit CEHE colleges’ web pages to look through the list of available degree programs. From the web site, they can then contact the colleges directly. Here is a list of CEHE’s college web sites:
CEHE’s Good Neighbor Initiative program is designed to help further educational opportunities by providing support services – such as scholarships, grants, and free services. One of the Good Neighbor Initiatives most successful program has been offering free GED test preparation that has helped over 3,000 people earn their GED since 2013.
